Walking
If you like the nature, Poiana Izvorului, Sambata de Sus, is the right place to find the peace and quietness offered by nature. Fresh pine scent will always accompany you either if you decide to a walk on the mountain, or to visit the Brancoveanu monastery nearby.
Brancoveanu Monastery - Sambata de Sus
The Brancoveanu Monastery welcomes its guests with love, tempting them with its history, religion, good advice.
Here you can visit a museum with religious objects, books and ancient manuscripts. Also the monks will talk about the history of the monastery and about times gone, about religion today.
Terrace and park
Far away from the daily noise of a town, here you find quiet surroundings and fresh air and a base for a mountain hideaway. You will find the best conditions of comfort: an indoor pool, sauna, soccer field, lake, covered terrace.
The covered terrace with up to 100 seats at tables is the ideal place for a cold or hot drink. Also, you can ride a hydro-bicycle or boat on an artificial small lake.
For football fans, we have a soccer field near the villa parking.
Pool and Sauna
The indoor pool has hot water. You can wade, swim or play with children. Then for total relaxation, we invite you to the sauna.
Skiing
In winter, you scan spend your free time skiing the slope of Dragus, located nearby. Dragus ski track has a length of 500 meters, a difference of 9.5% and is benefiting from artificial snow, night lights and lift. If you're a beginner, you can enjoy having a skiing monitor. Also you can rent ski equipment.
The normal duration of the ski season is from December to March. Slope is lighted along its entire length.
For children but also for adults we have a sleigh track offering a lot of fun for everybody.
Sambata de Jos Harras
Located in Sambata de Jos at 7 km from Sambata de Sus, it is the biggest harass of Lipizzaner horses in the country and one of the most important in Europe. You can also see the castle built by Samuel von Brukental in 1770.
The Saxon Churches in the area
You can visit the fortified Saxon churches in Rodbav, Cincsor, Cincu, Viscri and other villages, churches built centuries ago by the Saxons who inhabited the area.
Located at the foot of the Fagaras mountains, the monasteries chain from Dejan, Bucium, Berivoi, Breaza remind of the religious tradition of the inhabitants of this area.
